General Information

The Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union (IAAEU), together with the chair for Personnel Economics at Trier University, are jointly organising the 16th Workshop on Labour Economics, to be held on April 11-12, 2024. The Call for Papers can be found here.

We are happy to announce that this year’s keynote presentation “AI and the Labor Market” will be held by Christina Gathmann (LISER/ University of Luxembourg).
Furthermore, there will be a special session on counterfactual impact evaluation jointly organised with the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME) of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. While the use of register data is seen as beneficial, it is not mandatory. To have their papers considered for this session, researchers should explicitly state their interest when submitting.

The workshop provides a forum that allows scientists to network while fostering the exchange of research ideas and results across a range of fields, including labour and personnel economics, human resources, well-being, education, migration, inequality, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and more.

Travel

How to reach the conference venue:

Trier University is located uphill from the historic city centre and is divided into two campuses. Campus II, where the IAAEU is located, is a ten-minute walk from Campus I. There are several ways to reach the conference venue: You can take a bus that stops at the bus stops "Behringstraße" or "Universität Campus 2" near the conference venue. These stops are served by bus 4, which stops at some of the most important places in Trier (e.g. train station and Porta Nigra), as well as bus 14 (which does not go via the train station).

Another alternative to reach the campus is bus 3 (or 13). You can get off at the stop "Kohlenstraße" and walk for 10 minutes toward Campus II.

You can schedule your bus trip via: VRT Busses
